To Kill A Mockingbird-House

Harper Lee's 'To Kill a Mockingbird' has never been more relevant in our culture than it is on this day. The novel, with themes of the coexistence of good and evil, moral education, and social inequality has been thrown by the wayside.

As this reporter is shocked to recall, local psychopath GreatGreg has lashed out on society. This twisted individual has been collared by police for arson. You heard right folks, arson. The teen, sensing the growing complacency of 'the system' wrote his own anti-government manifesto and enacted into law its' anarchic principals. He took a broken bird house and set it ablaze with a vengeance known to few; he cackled with glee as the flames lapped at the nourishing wood.

In his own words GreatGreg claims, "I'm not f*cking kidding... My mom is crying in the other room right now... [This cop] called us all f*cking retards, said he's embarrassed that we're breathing the same air as him, and that we should all be castrated. F*ck that cop."

Such a cold and calculating individual killed the proverbial Mockingbird, displaying the loss of innocence of this new generation. Not to editorialize, but a petition was sent to the state, and I suggest, nay implore you good citizens to sign it. Regardless, with our justice system, all he will get is a slap on the wrist. Is our society doomed to go the way of Tom Robinson? I'll let you decide for yourselves.
